Recipe Request shrimp diablo

Hello Robert,

Do you want just any shrimp diablo recipe or is there one in particular that you have eaten and want a recipe for? If so, where did you have it?

Phaed

Hello Robert,

I had hoped that you could send me more details about which "Shrimp Diablo" recipe you wanted, but since you haven't all I can do is send you some rather generic recipes for the dish from the Internet. See below.

Phaed

Shrimp Diablo

1-2lbs. shelled and deveined shrimp (lg.size)
1 t. butter
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1/2 c. diced onion
1/4 c. diced green bell pepper
1 diced celery stalk
1/2 t. mustard
1/3 c. orange juice
2 t. Worcestershire sauce
1 t. garlic salt
black pepper to taste
cooked rice (optional)
cooked pasta (optional)

Wash shrimp, get rid of excess water. In a dry non-stick skillet,
sear shrimp on medium high heat.
Add butter, onions, bell pepper and celery. Cook for 5 minutes,
turn skillet to low. Add tomatoes, mustard, orange juice,
Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt.

Cook an additional 5-6 minutes.

Serve over rice or pasta.

Very spicy recipe.

Diablo Shrimp

1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 (1 lb.) pkg. linguine or similar pasta, cooked
4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter
1 cup chopped red onions
1 or 2 fresh jalapeno peppers, chopped and deseeded
1 or 2 cloves garlic, or to taste
1 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes (with green chili, garlic, or onion is best), drained
2 tbsp. fresh lemon (or lime) juice
1/2 cup white wine
grated Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling

Cook pasta according to package directions.
While pasta is cooking, prepare the shrimp.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add onions and jalapeno pepper.
Cook for about 3 minutes.

Add garlic, diced tomatoes and shrimp - sauté until shrimp
is opaque (about 2 minutes).
Add lemon juice and wine, cook until sauce thickens.

Serve over cooked pasta and garnish with Parmesan cheese.

Shrimp Fra Diablo

1 3/4 lb. shrimp, peeled & cleaned
1 1/2 tsp. minced fresh basil, for garnish
SAUCE:
1 tsp. olive oil
1/4 cup minced onion
4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 chili peppers, split & seeded
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1 cup water
1 tbsp. low sodium soy sauce
Dash hot pepper sauce
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

Heat oil in a large skillet. Add onions, garlic and peppers;
sauté for 5 minutes. Add tomato paste, lemon juice, vinegar,
water, soy sauce, hot pepper sauce, and cayenne.
Simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes. Cool to room temperature.
Stir in basil.
Brush the shrimp with the sauce. Broil the shrimp, about 4-inches
away from the heat, 4 to 5 minutes on each side, basting often.
Serve with remaining sauce and garnish with basil.

Serves 6.

Piccadilly's recipe please

Hello Robert,

Sorry, I cannot find a printed recipe for Piccadilly's "Shrimp Diablo."

However, a Piccadilly chef made a video for charity of himself making "Shrimp Diablo." Go here: YouTube: Shrimp Diablo
You can watch the video on YouTube. Listen carefully - he tells each ingredient and some of the method as he makes the dish - both ingredient name and amount. (sort of) If you listen closely, you can write down each ingredient and what he does. Then you'll have a recipe. You may have to watch the video several times to get it right, but that may be the only way that you can get it.

Phaed

This is the ingredient list/recipe from the video, such as it is:

Piccadilly Shrimp Diablo

margarine or butter
small yellow onion
2 ribs celery
1 small bell pepper
(saute until wilted)

add 7 ounces cooked smoked sausage

add 2 lbs fresh peeled shrimp
(cook until pink)
basil
thyme
white pepper
granulated garlic
salt
tomato puree
