Sorry, I had no success finding a recipe or a copycat recipe or a "tastes-like" for them.
All I found were a few scattered mentions of them.
I doubt very much that these were made on-site at the individual Howard Johnson's restaurants.
Items like this were likely made at a central commissary or by an outside vendor and then
shipped to the local restaurants. That being so, only employees of the commissary or vendor or
Howard Johnson's home office would know anything about the recipe.
I'll post this for reader input.
