Hi Barbie,

I had no success today with this search. I searched for it before, in 2017, and there is some good information in that previous post. See: 12-08-2017

In discussions about this bread on message boards, I read that Van de Kamp's used a specialized cheese powder called "cheese tang," which is no longer on the market. There are other brands of cheese powder. Amazon has some. See: Amazon Powdered Cheese

Those cheese powders may have a recipe on the label for "cheese bread." There's no reason to believe that it would taste like Van de Kamp's, but it might be acceptable. I have no idea of a cheese bread recipe that might taste similar to VdK's. I have no idea of which, if any, cheese powder that might be a good substitute for "cheese tang."

The "go-to" place for Van de Kamp's recipes these days is a Van de Kamp's Facebook Group.  It's a private group, so you have to join, but they are accepting new members. A couple of the members are re-creating Van de Kamp's dishes from the original recipes. I did a search of the page, but no one has yet tried to re-create the cheese bread, as far as I can determine. I'm not surprised because you would probably have to find a substitute for the "cheese tang" before you could  begin to do so.

See:  Facebook: Van de Kamp

Perhaps if you join it and start a discussion about the cheese bread, someone there might be able to help. There's a photo there of two loaves of bread that is captioned "Van de Kamp's Cheese Bread," but it's from another bakery, and that bakery's Facebook page appears to be dormant.

Good luck!
