Hello Juanita,
There are lots of places in Philadelphia that sell cushaw when it's in season. That's the key, you see. It's not in season right now:
Cushaw squash, a type of winter squash, is generally harvested in Pennsylvania during the fall, from late September to October. This is when the vines die back, the stems become dry and tough, and the rind develops its deep color and hardness.
You might find some immature cushaw for sale in August.
These places in Philadelphia sell cushaw when it's in season:
MOM's Organic Market
34 South 11th St., Philadelphia, PA 19107
Phone: (215) 709-0022
Whole Foods Market
2101 Pennsylvania Ave Philadelphia, PA 19130
(215) 557-0015
Iovine Brothers Produce
1136 Arch Street,
Unit 467 Reading Terminal Market
Philadelphia, PA 19107
Phone: 215-928-4366
If you type this into Google, you'll get dozens more places that sell cushaw in Philadelphia in season:
"where can i buy fresh cushaw squash near philadelphia pa"
Type it in just like that, with the quotation marks.
Of course, you'd want to call any of these places before you go to them, to make sure they have cushaw currently in stock.
