What do you remember about Lumburgers? They were more like sloppy joes,
loose ground beef topped with some type of melted cheese.
I tried a recipe today, but the taste did not come back to me because I
chose the wrong cheese to try. What cheese do you think Lum’s used?
I remember those lumburgers just melted in your mouth!!

Hi Larry,
Well, I know next to nothing about Lumburgers. We had a Lum's on Highway 90 in Biloxi/Gulfport
in the 1970s, but the only thing I recall eating there was the fried clams basket.
There is a lot of discussion about Lumburgers on various message boards around the web, but no
one has a recipe. Lumburgers are mundanely described in those posts as "loose meat hamburgers
with a bit of tomato based sauce.
However, I found a photo of an actual Lum's menu with a much better description here: Lum's Menu
To wit: "chopped sirloin in our own B-B-Q sauce on an egg bun."
Chopped sirloin and an egg bun are not difficult to find, but Lum's own BBQ sauce recipe is like
Captain Kidd's treasure. No success there.
