Hello!

Hilda’s Tea Room was a wonderful lunch destination in Naples,Florida
with delicious open faced sandwiches, soups, desserts and teas. In
addition to the Tea Room, Hilda had a catering business. Our family’s
favorite desert there in the 1970s and beyond was her Coconut Delight.
It was served in a small cup filled with white gelatin-like base and
topped with a thick Carmel sauce and toasted coconut. The Tea Room
has been sold several times since her passing. The first owner said
she sold her recipes with the sale. Would love to have that recipe
to make at family gatherings. Great memories.

Thanks for your help!

Hello Sara,

I am puzzled. I came up empty handed. I cannot find any mention at all of anything called "Hilda's Tea Room" or "Hilda's Tearoom" or any dining establishment at all called "Hilda's" in Naples, Florida or environs. We have over two dozen books about Florida restaurants and their recipes, covering the last 75 + years, but there is no mention of "Hilda's" in any of them. Sorry.

There are a number of sweets and pastries and desserts called "coconut delight", but I did not find one that matched your description, nor did I find one with any particular connection to Florida.

I'll post this for reader input.
