Phaedrus, there used to be a restaurant called Wolfies(?) in South Florida that made the most amazing slaw.
I can't even begin to duplicate it because I've forgotten how it tasted, but man it was good!
Any help you could provide would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ann

Hi Ann,

There’s an article about Wolfies here:

https://restaurant-ingthroughhistory.com/2011/03/27/famous-in-its-day-wolfies/

I had no success with the actual Wolfies recipe. Wolfies never gave out their coleslaw recipe.

The Wolfies cheesecake recipe that I was sent is here:

I would like a recipe for Wolfies coleslaw.

Hello Terry,

I’m afraid that Wolfie’s actual recipe is not available. The recipe below is supposed to be similar.

Phaed

Old Miami Beach Deli-Style Coleslaw
Makes 8 servings

1 medium cabbage (about 1 pound)
1 green bell pepper
1 medium onion
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
1. Shred the cabbage very fine; you should have about 4 cups. Slice onion and bell pepper into very thin slices.
2. Combine oil, vinegar and sugar in a lidded jar; shake well to mix. Pour over the slaw mixture and toss to blend.
Refrigerate for several hours and preferably overnight. Drain. Add salt and pepper to taste. Makes 8 servings.

Hi:
Would you be able to help me find instructions possibly? For my birthday on the 13th I received the original apple baker from Christian pottery
I think it says on the bottom a little hard to tell. Anyhow, it did not come with instructions or recipes how to bake the apples.
Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Liz

Hi Liz,

There are instructions and a recipe on this site:
