I don't need it - I've been messing with it and think I have it (pretty darn close anyway).
I see it's been requested on your page if you want to post it.

Adobe Dressing

Whisk together:
1/2 c. Mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1 Tablespoon ketchup
1 Teaspoon minced garlic (or chopped - in the jar)
1/4 Teaspoon chili powder
1/2 Teaspoon paprika
1/2 Teaspoon sugar
1/8 Teaspoon Cayenne
1/4 Teaspoon fresh ground black pepper (or to taste)

Refrigerate several hours before serving.

Thanks,

Cindy

Cedar Crest Restaurant Rice Pudding

Hi Uncle P,

I am looking for the Rice Pudding recipe from the Cedar Crest Restaurant that was located on Route 28 in Lawrence, MA
from the 1930s until 2009 when it closed it's doors. The pudding was creamy and yellow in color and came with a dollop
of whipped cream. I have tried several recipes but cannot recreate the taste or texture.

Thanks for your help!
Patti

Hello Patti,

Sorry, I had no success with this. I found several mentions of the Cedar Crest Restaurant in Lawrence, but no mention of the rice pudding.

I will post this for reader input.

Woolworth's Cupcakes

Subject: recipe find?

Hi there - my name is Rhonda. I grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick
Canada mostly in the 70 and early 80s. We had a Woolworth’s in our
downtown — very much like many of the descriptions of Woolworths in other
communities. My mother often took us to the lunch counter but the offerings
of the bakery stand out most in my mind. I’ve found recipes for their famous
German chocolate cake but despite numerous web searches using as many word
combos as I could think of, I can find no mention of their cupcakes. Our
Woolworth sold the same collection of cupcakes every day for as long as I
could remember until the store finally closed. In particular … I remember
the White cupcakes with a white coconut frosting (it had a maraschino cherry
slice on top). The White and chocolate cupcakes with a chocolate icing and
my absolute favourite white cupcakes with a maple walnut icing. No where
before or since have I found such cupcakes and I think of them still! Any
ideas as to how I might go about tracking the recipes down????

Rhonda

Hello Rhonda,

I can't offer you much hope. I have been searching for any and all Woolworth's recipes for fifteen years. There are very few to be found on the Internet, and the cupcakes recipe is not among them. One of my readers has a copy of the actual Woolworth's recipe manual, and he was good enough to scan in the recipe pages and send them to me, so I have quite a few Woolworth's recipes that I have not as yet posted due to not receiving requests for them. However, almost all of the dessert section, including the cupcakes recipe, is missing.

I'll post this for reader input.
